IoT: ENABLING ACCESSIBILITY
The Internet of Things opens up many ways of making the world more accessible, indeed, people with impairments may benefit more than anyone else from IoT technologies.
Ubiquitous connectivity means an environment that is connected to smartphones, wearables or peripherals, the connectivity between "things" may allow people with vision impairments to navigate the world more easily, or to know what is going on inside and outside their homes; those with hearing impairments to connect with alarms; and those with mobility impairments to control their home environment with ease.
In many ways, connectivity means accessibility.
